TELIYA IKAT COTTON FABRIC – (AJF 440)

Combination of Crimson Red, Black and White

Beautiful Geometric pattern on the fabric is produced by a method called TELIYA WEAVING . This is done by highly skilled craftsmen and the process is labour intensive and time consuming. The yarn is treated with oils of sesame and castor seed, along with sheep dung. This process takes several days. While the tie-dyed warp is on the loom, the tie-dyed weft is prepared . Then the design is plotted on a graph, and then transferred through the ties onto the yarn. The yarn goes through several steps during weaving before the final finished product is rendered.
